I’m looking forward to Saturday this week.
It’s been a long week with the medical outreach, and Saturdays are always fun.
Saturdays, in fact, embody two big lessons I’ve learned out here in Sudan.
The first is, never neglect the Sabbath—you’ve got to take a day, or you’ll fall into a million pieces. You’ve got to be selfish with your Sabbath day.
The second is how to speak love through quality time. I see my friendship with Kim as a real gift from God, and I don’t want to neglect that. But I’m more of a gifts/service love language gal, so loving someone by spending specific time with them doesn’t come naturally to me. (I have a hard time imagining that someone would want to spend specific time with me!) So Saturday is our day. We both look forward to it now; we’re both blessed by it.
So, yes… how sweet a Saturday looks this week.
