I realized today that the one huge bonus in giving up on and letting go of going on a honeymoon is that now I have no reason but to entirely let myself go, as well.
Wonderful, right?
Hooray! One bonus!!!
Not that I'm too far from it already.
I was gleefully having a few marshmallows for breakfast the other morning, and Eric swept them off the table and into his fist, then matter-of-factly slammed them in the trash can.
Pffft.
As if he's Mr. Healthy Eater Man. I keep feeding the man what I think is good-for-him food, and he keeps gaining weight. He's been steadily gaining weight since we met, in fact. (But, yes, he's still a very slim man...) It's a mystery. As in, a real, genuine mystery. How can that happen?
Somedays he invites me to resign to the fact that that's what newly married couples do--gain weight.
But I don't remember the woman being included in that generality... is she?
Oh is she ever. I think it's worse for us. My husband is as slim as ever.
ReplyDeleteAs a single 20's gal I thought I was pretty healthy but I would regularly eat a fruit bar for dinner or ice cream for breakfast. I was skinny and ran- I could do that. Jacob was appalled when we got married!
Jacob quickly taught me how unhealthy I was... so I started eating every meal... with him... bigger servings.. and POOF! BIGGER me!
I started wearing several ski suits under my skin!
I gained more than I gained during the "freshmen 15". I'm just now figuring it out. and getting back to my wedding day weight. I definitely can't eat like he does. (duh- I knew that.. but reality was a shock!).
P.s. in Karamoja my weight was under control obviously- if I wanted bread I had to knead it, and if I wanted chocolate I had to buy it on our out days and fly it up and covet it and eat it slowly.. but it's been state side that the poof happened! the land of ice cream, pre-made bread and beautiful cheeses... Alas.. POOF!
ReplyDeleteAndi, unfortunately, that's what happened to Phil and I, however, since our new health revolution, we've both been loosing weight!! Speaking of, on Wednesday, if you guys aren't doing anything, you should totally come to the movie night at 6:30!! $5 a person and you get organic popcorn, too!! Let me know if you guys want to come...we'll be there!
